  • December Meeting Reprise

Thanks to all who attended last night's "meeting"; i.e., an excuse to get together in December, meet with friends, eat too much and enjoy a few Mini videos.
The more I know about Minis, the more I know I don't know about Minis.

Let's try and keep all posts for meetings in there respective threads. This way it keeps the clutter down and topics organized.

    Trust me this will work

So all things for December meeting go in that post. Once the meeting is done someone can start a new thread for January and we can start talking about it in that thread.

Also when you start a new meeting thread please post up the

    WHO
    WHAT
    WHEN
    WHERE

    details.

I will move this post in a little bit to the december meeting thread.
It can make commuting the best part of the day if you do it right. -mascher

Disagree...a lot. In the past threads about meetings and events dragged on. It was much easier to start a second thread as an after the meeting or event thread rather than tag more things at the very bottom. Hence the "reprise" threads.
The more I know about Minis, the more I know I don't know about Minis.

I guess the argument is that is the thread going to be so long that it will get lost? We don't get that much traffic. This forum software we have is pretty slick and makes easy to get to the end of the thread.

When someone posts a new "post" to a thread it is highly visibile regardless of location in the thread itself. The forum software lets you click on "last post" and it does exactly that.

I still really like having all the chat etc dedicated to each month in a single thread. That way I don't have to alternate threads back and forth. Not to mention it will be easy to archive down the road.

        Trust me this will work..

Don't forget that you can set up thread viewing style in your profile. It allows you to see the new ones first or last....your choice!
When viewing a thread, you will be able to view the thread from a choice of four modes.

          1. Linear Mode (Oldest First) - In this mode, posts are displayed chronologically from oldest to newest. Posts are shown in a flat mode so that many posts can be viewed simultaneously.
          2. Linear Mode (Newest First) - This is the same as the above mode, except that posts are ordered in an opposite way (newest first).
          3. Threaded Mode - In this mode, a tree is shown along with every post. This tree allows you to see the relationship each post has to others, in terms of who responded to whom. Only one post is shown at a time.
          4. Hybrid Mode - This mode is a mixture of the linear and threaded modes. The post tree is displayed like in the threaded mode, but multiple posts are displayed simultaneously like in the linear modes.

Go to your profile, Control Panel, Edit Options, then scroll down to "Thread Display Mode". Cool!

Sorry if you already knew that...
