  • May 17, 2011 Meeting

Tuesday night, May 17, 7:30 PM

    Location: My place.
    13422 - 80th Ave S
    Seattle, WA 98178
    425-226-2783

    Meeting Starts: 7:30 p.m.

This will be a "Minis On the Grass" meeting, weather cooperating. We'll park the Minis on the grass to the south of the garage for photos, so bring your camera and try to get here before 7:00.

Come as early as 6:00 to wander through the garage to see whatever's the latest I'm working on or to look through the parts in the "box of shame."
The more I know about Minis, the more I know I don't know about Minis.

I'm keeping and eye on the weather...and the sogginess of the lawn.

      Photo night is on!
Looks like it should be a good night for photographs. Most of the lawn, and, of course, all of the driveway will be available for as many Minis as we can park.
Remember to take the angled path from the upper drive to the steep down-hill bit (i.e., one wheel at a time) to save exhaust systems!
There are rumors that Mark is going to make his way in the yellow peril Van all the way down from just south of Vancouver (or wherever it is he lives). If he and the Van can make it that far, no excuses from the rest of you!
Bring your Mini and your camera.
The more I know about Minis, the more I know I don't know about Minis.

        Car pic.....

If I can make it from Belfair, then there really is no excuse for those on the East side.
It's all part of life's rich tapestry.

I didn't go so far as to wash anything, but the two South African cars are outside and the covers are off of the 1071 and the Inno. The light blue Mk II 850 is outside along with my current project, a late 70s Canadian car I call the WSU car.
With more room in the main garage, I moved the tool chests and other stuff out of the way so the firetruck and the three Riley Elfs are a little easier to see.
The box(es) of shame are empty and the parts are on the bench to peruse. New this month are a clutch slave cylinder rusted into one piece and a starter motor with a broken bendix spring. Oh, and remind me to tell you about clutch slave hoses. Another part we'll have to keep an eye on.

Thanks to all who showed up. I counted 24 Minis outside of the garage (does that include last-minute Mark?) and seven more inside that I just ran out of time (and energy) to get out. There were a lot of photos taken (some to show up soon, hopefully), and everyone got to see a good variety of Minis.
Because the June meeting (the 21st) is at my house, again, I would think another Minis on the Grass would be a good idea.

Thanks for having us, Chuck, and also thank you for the last minute "spares" lug nuts.
                Best regards,

Checked my photos. Mark's Yellow Peril made the total 25.

Excellent! 25 Minis on a Tuesday night is a good turn out.

Oh, and by the way...... the color name is Yellow Devil. ( Ha Ha Ha )

                    Best regards,

Missing from the photos are all the cars lined up on the garage side and late comer Mark Hurston. Total: 25 cars...and only four were mine!
