I'm gathering bits to re-do the dash in the Van. The existing fuel gauge isn't on speaking terms, doesn't work, with the tank sender. The gauge heads right for FULL when grounded. The sender reads 270 ohms when the tank is full, 550 ohms after a trip to Bothell and 620 ohms after a bit more driving about. Both devices seem to be working but still no gauge reading.
Readings of other random senders (76 canadian saloon) run from 15-20 ohms full to 275 ohms empty.
What's up with the 69 Van's high resistance sender compared with the 76?
Did BMC/BL continue to use early fuel senders in the Van similar to the continued use of sliding windows and external hinges?

Or maybe the sender isn't grounded properly? I'll check it Saturday. Don
