  • Crankcase breather

    after my car is warm and driven I open the Hood
    and smoke coming out of the Breather unit, no smoke from
    \the tailpipe, what does it mean?? have a K & N
    Filter installed.

    1. Which breather, the one mounted on the clutch cover or the one on the timing chain cover?
    2. Is the valve cover cap vented or non-vented?

      breather over the clutch cover.
      I think the valve cover got a breather though have not checked!

        I think I have answered my own question:it is not smoke coming out of the breather it is more like Steam/ vapor it suppose to be that way to releave
        pressure so Water/gas oel mixture ( "run by") can escape through the Breather through a filter( K & n
        or the steam is direct guided through a hose back in the Carb Systems.
        yes the Valve cover cap is vented
