  • Sad Seat

The front seats on my '63 850 have straps instead of a diaphragm.

Note the broken wire clip sitting atop the strap. Are these available or do I need to convert to a diaphragm?

Newton sells the straps and clips in a kit, but not the wire clips individually.

Wouldn't be that hard to bend some clips out of wire. If you need to replace a strap there is Pirelli webbing.

Newton is the only thing I found, so far.

Sure the car is a '63? What is the build date?

        850,
Those clips are rather springy. I think a bent wire on my part would be un bent in short order. Seems the seat frame wears through the clip in 52 years.

        Chuck,
Or 53 years. Build date of 19 February, 1962. Licensed as a 1963.

Figured it was a '62. I'm pretty sure the straps stopped for Minis in '62 and the one-piece diaphram was in use by '63.

Mini Spares found a batch of NOS clips, now available for 45 US cents each.
