The fins/teeth on the leading edge of the gearbox casing have been grounnd off...perhaps by a sped bump or...? I hear that these can be replaced with fins taken from another box. Fact or fiction? Does anyone local do such repair work?
Alternatively, I will require a 333 Cooper S "Q" casing. Or, I could use a sump guard and no one would seee the missing teeth!
While I'm at it, I read on another forum that on the Cooper S models the engine number was stamped on the gearbox as well. The numbers on mine do not match. Can anyone clarify this quandry?
