  • Stillaguamish

Marian and I didn't make it to the Museum of Flight last weekend because we had the opportunity to "cabin" on the Stillaguamish River near Verlot (East of Granite Falls). The Gummint recently opened a new bridge across the river to replace one washed out in 2001. Beyond the bridge is a renovated gravel road, the old Monte Cristo Railroad bed, leading to some properties that haven't had access since '01. There are a lot of collapsed mobile homes and cars not licensed since 2001. Kind of spooky, glad our cabin was on the civilized side of the bridge. Don

You drove across the little wooden bridge? If so, good job you were in a Mini not a Monster gas sucking SUV or something.
It's all part of life's rich tapestry.

What did you expect to find? Once a quamish, always a quamish, you know.
The more I know about Minis, the more I know I don't know about Minis.

Chuck, I think you're still a guamish short.

        Looks like an adventure, Don.

No need to still be guamish about the bridge.

It has been tested by the local fire department in their apparatus as well as more than a few gravel trucks.

The bridge structure is made of Corten steel, designed to rust just a bit, somewhat like our cars.
