  • FOUND! SAMOA Inspirational Award!

The long missing SAMOA Inspirational Award plaque (a.k.a., Dick & Carmen Penna Memorial Trophy) has been found [Ed] tucked away in a box in the basement [Ed] of a long time SAMOA member [Ed] who shall remain nameless [Ed] to save embarassment.

    [Sauer]

The original award was first presented to one of the club's founders, Jerry Everett, in 1969 and the last name added to the award ten years later is Karen Corbett's.

It will take a little research to see if more names are missing after 1978 and before I resurrected the award process seven or eight years ago. Then we'll need to get a new award made and updated.

So Chuck, where'd you find the plaque?

As a consolation, winners for the past several years get to keep the award at their homes for a week.

By the way, it's a great award, but for the next one I think we can come up with something a little more "inspirational."

          Got it, Jerry.

By the way, I figured out where Stewart's Meats is. I've driven by the place dozens of times and made mental notes to stop some time, but never did. This time we'll stop.

So, does the concept of keeping the new plaque for a week include those past and present members who live out of state? (or Canada?)

            Just curious...

No, Toby. But we might send you a photo!

Shoulda listened to Colin. He said I should have wrapped it up and given it as a white elephant.
