There are some interesting insights into the Mini's front end strength and crash testing in Jon Pressnell's, "Mini, The Definitive History."
The more I know about Minis, the more I know I don't know about Minis.

When so many love driving their big honkin SUVs and new 'small' cars weigh 3,000 lbs.... maybe.

When I was in the UK for the MM 94 and the 35th birthday there was a couple from Germany that was in route to the celebrations but crashed head on with a much larger vehicle. They lived but sustained lower extremity injuries.
It was still towed to the meet only to be on display for all too see.

Im sure my motorcycle would look even worse after the same test! and I try to ride that any time I can. Why live in fear? You have a better odds of choking on your food today then getting hit head on, are you not going to eat?.....hummmm.

Hmm. I guess we're always involved in a head-on collision with our food.
