OK, does anyone else know if the mini will race this year and what is
SAMOA's involvement? -
I can't say for sure but I think I read (possibly on the Mini Mania forum) that the original Mini isn't allowed in Lemons any longer. This is from memory so isn't to be trusted.

Again I have no evidence and no time to find any. Given that, I recall it was because the average Lemons car was so much larger and higher powered than the original Mini that they thought it was too dangerous to allow them to compete. Or something like that.

Just checked the rules; must be massed produced, four wheeled vehicles,
legal for use on US highways at time of manufacture. Sounds to me that a '67 or earlier mini would be ok-and cost less than $500. No Zambonis, side cars or golf carts.Comment
