  • OMS Invasion on the16th

I would swear I posted this yesterday, but it has vaporized.

I received an email (below) from the Oregon Mini Society about an event they are having this Sunday. Too bad we didn't learn about it sooner. We could have made it a joint event. Maybe next year. For those with time on Sunday, I'm sure OMS would welcome you to their tour of the Museums, or just take the time to stop by and say, "Hello" to fellow Mini owners.

"Two great opportunities -- The LeMay Museum and the Museum of Glass

"Our plan is to leave Salmon Creek (north side of Vancouver, WA) at 9:00, arriving in Tacoma about noon. There is a eating place near the Museum of Glass -- Harmon Brew Pub -- where we can stop for lunch. People can go to either attraction or both. The main itinerary will be to tour the LeMay Museum first. Some may wish to spend the whole day there. From LeMay, some may go to the Museum of Glass, plus the Chihuly Bridge, the old Tacoma Train Station, where there is more Chihuly work, and the Traver Gallery next to the Museum of glass. The hot shop will be operating at the glass museum, so folks can watch highly-skilled glass artists and craftsmen create art in glass.

"We can regroup about six o'clock and drive to Lacey, where there is a very-good Pub -- O'Blarney's -- for dinner.

    "Sunday, September 16
Meet in the Safeway parking lot off 134th St. Both I-5 and I-205 have 134th St. exits. Safeway is just south of 134th St., east of I-5 and just on the west side of I-205.
Warning: there is a Safeway gas station in the shopping center parking lot. Suggest NOT filling up there. Several instances of car problems after filling up at that station.

"Since this is a destination event and not a driver event, we will be driving I-5 all the way.

"If we have ten or more adults, we will get a significant discount off normal admission at LeMay, and a moderate discount at the Museum of Glass."
The more I know about Minis, the more I know I don't know about Minis.

Bette and I ate breakfast/lunch at the Harmon on Sunday; was going to offer the use of my garage if needed but didn't see any minis.

Turns out they spent so long at the LeMay, they never made it to the other one.

Jerry did you get a burger and a brew there at Harmon's? Good food and a good choice of local brews.
It's all part of life's rich tapestry.
