  • Finished The 40th Panoramic photo...

    Woo Hoo!

    Here's the sample:

The current hi-res file is 5.75 x 56" @300dpi I'll scale it to the final width when a frame size is decided on. (175 megs isn't an e-mail item for sure.

Woo Hoo doesn't even begin to describe that photo. Three cheers to the photographer, (credit please), and to Colin and Ed for arranging the cars. The Binis off to the far right waiting their turn to prove themselves is a nice touch.
    Thanks David! Don

Special thanks to Michael O'Leary for taking the photo(s)! And special thanks to David Haight (TiniWag) for photoshopping out those stupid little cones that we forgot to remove from in front of the Minis...

First we need a size... or not.

Let's decide on the size we want and then we can locate a printing resource.

This is a real long skinny image. If we want the picture to be 2" high, it'll will be 19.478 wide. Given the odd size we'll probably print it multiple times up on a standard large poster size and trim it out ourselves.

If we want something that would fit multiple times on a 20 x 30 poster print we could use an 18" width that would give us an image of 1.848 high. With a 1" inch boarder around the image that would give us 7 images per sheet. (actually 7.79).

If we go this route the second item of business is how many to order?

Another option: we upload the image to some sort of on-line printing resource and let people size it to their own preference.

Or this option: I resize it to something downloable and we offer it on-line for printing by your own means.

David, are you going to be at the meeting tonight? A good chance to discuss.

Excellent photo! I'll definitely be buying a copy. It's already been made the background on my computer!

                    No Meeting for me...

I can't make the meeting tonight, too many deadlines!

You can give me a call during the meeting if you have any questions.

In any case, as soon as I get the size we want I'll burn a CD for whatever vendor and one for the club archive. (do we have that?)

Can I use it for the front page?

Can we make it bigger (longer, wider)? Perhaps turn it the other way on the 20x30 and go for the 30" side for the width? Just my $.02, I will buy one no matter what the final size.

                          Yes to both...

I don't see why we couldn't use it on the front page, of course it's up to the photographer, but somehow I don't think that will be an issue.

And sure we could go the 30" width, just depends on what everone wants. Or Chuck can pipe in and be the "decider".

                              Available as a PDF perhaps

As a Press Quality PDF the full size file comes in at 32 megs, way smaller than the 173 meg photoshop file. If you have that file you could get it printed to whatever size you want.

If you have a fast connection, e-mail me and I'll send you a link. Not sure how it would impact the bandwidth usage on my site so I won't post a link here.
