  • Mini - Monte Carlo history

Just stumbled upon a pretty nice online history of the Mini in the Monte Carlo Rallye. In case you missed it too:

    Ed

    1972 Austin 1300GT - Mean Mr. Mustard
    1963 Riley Elf MkII - Baba O

Hopkirk's '64 win is the one people remember. Not taking anything away from it, but it was won on a handicap basis. Read all you can about the '65 win. (See Browining's, The Works Minis, for instance.) Outright win. Not on handicap, and it is still looked at as one of the best Monte Carlo drives ever. And then there is the little incident with the points failing during the rallye...
The more I know about Minis, the more I know I don't know about Minis.
